Meika & Graham’s engagement session started off with firefighters rescuing me from a stuck elevator of a 36 floor building. YUP, you read that right!
Meika & Graham, being the amazing and kind people that they are, offered to wait outside my building for however long it took for me to be released from my metal cage! Even if it meant not being able to shoot at location we had our hearts set-on, Horseshoe Canyon in Drumhellar.
Spoiler Alert: The Calgary fire department saved the day! I was released and ran to the backseat of the lovely couple and we began our road trip to the badlands! We got there at the perfect time. The sun was casting a warm glow over the valleys and stunning rock walls of the canyon and these two were immediately in their element. Laughing, dancing, playing and needing zero direction from me to look HELLA cute in front of the camera.
Choosing the Badlands
Travelling too YYC from Vancouver, these two once called Calgary home and knew they wanted their session to be somewhere that felt like Alberta without being the classic mountain landscape. The badlands were the perfect fit, stunning natural vistas but a little out of the box and one of my personal favourite areas to shoot in! I love to tell my couples when choosing a location for your engagement or couples session to think about a place that feels like it fits your vibe or has sentimental value to you! Meika & Graham fit perfectly into this sun dappled landscape, twirling around the tall grasses and climbing over natural rock formations together!
This session will always bring me so much joy and I can’t wait to create more memories with these two when they get married this summer!
